Several people asked on Sunday how to donate to the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance for Hurricane Helene. PDA established one fund several years ago to be used for all hurricanes and typhoons. PDA is already at work here in Florida assisting not only with Helene recovery but also Debby. They are also going into Georgia, South Carolina and North Carolina. In worship this Sunday we will be praying for Jacksonville Campus Ministry's Food for Thought program where college students gather each Tuesday evening to share a meal, hear devotions and check in with each other. This month a home cooked meal will be provided by the evening Presbyterian Women Circle. Please pray for the women providing the meal and the students receiving it. We give bus passes to help our homeless find employment and 3 of our homeless got jobs. We distributed 6,727 pounds of food and received 7,046 pounds. We served 489 clients, 262 homeless and helped 12 families financially.
Pantry needs are: canned pasta, chili, soup, canned meat, Vienna sausage, canned vegetables and fruits, pasta sauce, instant potatoes, jelly, crackers, peanut butter crackers, cereal/breakfast bars, snacks, clean T-shirts and gently used Bibles.
