What to Expect

Friendly faces. There are plenty of friendly faces to greet you when you come to our church! We invite you to visit and make yourself at home here at HBPC. Feel free to ask one of our Greeters if you need anything.

Casual environment. We want you to feel comfortable when you come to church. In our relaxed atmosphere, be as casual as you want to be. Wear jeans and/or flip flops and be welcomed right in! Just come as you are and dress comfortably. Relax and listen to what God wants to say to you.

Relevant teaching and worship.
Our aim is to teach something on Sunday that can be applied all week long. We want to help you discover the practical guidance God gives. We want every worship service to be a authentic and creative encounter with God, so we invite you to engage in and live the Gospel!

Something for your whole family. We are a family-friendly church. We know when you visit a church it’s of utmost importance that your children are in a safe environment where they can learn and have fun at the same time! At HBPC we offer ministries for everyone: children, youth, and adults.

No pressure. As our guest, please don’t worry about being put on the spot. We won’t ask you to “stand and be recognized” and we don’t expect you to participate in the offering. We want you to feel relaxed and welcomed!

Getting connected.
When you’re ready, the best way to get connected into the life of HBPC is to get involved in one of our many small groups or classes. Groups are for people of all ages and stages of life. Our small groups and classes meet together each week to study God’s Word and live life together.  You don’t have to have any special skill or talent to join, and we guarantee no one will quiz you on your knowledge of Leviticus upon your arrival.

You might be wondering…

How do I get there?

We are located at 4140 Hodges Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32224 at the intersection of Hodges Boulevard and Chets Creek Drive.

What about my children?

“Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these,” said Jesus in Matthew 19:14.

We believe that children of all ages are a gift and treasure from God, and they are to be taught and raised up to know just how much they are loved. They are always welcome in service … wiggles, giggles and all.

At Hodges, we strive to partner with parents in laying a firm faith foundation so that each child will become a lifelong follower of Jesus Christ, and grow to know, love and serve Him.

Our greeters will be happy to help you and your children. Ask them for an activity clipboard for their time in worship

Infants/Preschool/Kindergarten

Our staffed and secure Nursery and Preschool area is located in the Education Building. It is open and welcoming from 8:45 am until the end of the service. Check-in is in Room 1. Feel free to bring your infants, toddlers, preschoolers and kindergartners here at any time. We encourage preschool and kindergarten-aged children sit with you in worship until the Children’s Moment. After the Children’s Moment, Nursery staff will escort the children to their special room in the Education Building.

A Wiggle Room is located at the rear of the sanctuary for parents who wish to keep their wiggling babies and toddlers with them. A changing table and rest room is also in this room. In the Wiggle Room, you will be able to see and hear the service as well as know that your child is entertained and contained.

1st Through 5th Grade

Have your elementary-aged child sit with you in the main sanctuary at the start of service. After the Children’s Moment, they’ll be excused to go to the Fellowship Hall for their own time of worship and Bible exploration. We offer a lot of other activities and educational opportunities in our Children’s Ministry.

Middle School and High School Youth

Youth remain in the sanctuary for the worship service. We offer many other activities and educational opportunities in our Youth Ministry at different times.
