What to Expect

Hodges Boulevard Presbyterian is a diverse and inclusive congregation united by the love of Jesus Christ, passionately committed to spiritual growth through Biblical preaching, teaching and Christ-centered worship, and specifically aimed toward equipping believers for service that reflects the grace of God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

Friendly faces.

There are plenty of friendly faces to greet you when you come to our church! We invite you to visit and make yourself at home here at HBPC. Feel free to ask one of our Greeters if you need anything.

Casual environment.

We want you to feel comfortable when you come to church. In our relaxed atmosphere, be as casual as you want to be. Wear jeans and/or flip flops and be welcomed right in! Just come as you are and dress comfortably. Relax and listen to what God wants to say to you.

Getting connected.

When you’re ready, the best way to get connected into the life of HBPC is to get involved in one of our many small groups or classes. Groups are for people of all ages and stages of life. Our small groups and classes meet together each week to study God’s Word and live life together.  You don’t have to have any special skill or talent to join, and we guarantee no one will quiz you on your knowledge of Leviticus upon your arrival.

No pressure.

As our guest, please don’t worry about being put on the spot. We won’t ask you to “stand and be recognized” and we don’t expect you to participate in the offering. We want you to feel relaxed and welcomed!

Relevant teaching and worship.

Our aim is to teach something on Sunday that can be applied all week long. We want to help you discover the practical guidance God gives. We want every worship service to be a authentic and creative encounter with God, so we invite you to engage in and live the Gospel!

Something for your whole family.

We are a family-friendly church. We know when you visit a church it’s of utmost importance that your children are in a safe environment where they can learn and have fun at the same time! At HBPC we offer ministries for everyone: children, youth, and adults.

At the core of Presbyterian identity is a secure hope in the grace of God in Jesus Christ, a hope that, by the power of the Holy Spirit, empowers us to live lives of gratitude: “In affirming with the earliest Christians that Jesus is Lord, the Church confesses that he is its hope, and that the Church, as Christ’s body, is bound to his authority and thus free to live in the lively, joyous reality of the grace of God.” (Book of Order F-1.0204)
