CONFESSION

Tim Keeley

CALL TO CONFESSION (Ezekiel 36:26)

I will give you a new heart and a new mind. I will take away your stubborn heart of stone and give you an obedient heart.

PRAYER OF CONFESSION

Forgive us, Lord God, if we have been content to be less than we can be: if we have settled for that which takes little effort; if we have not recognized your divine image in us; if we have allowed ourselves the luxury of giving up; if we have failed to use the resources you have given; if we have been afraid to venture out in faith. Restore in us the confidence that comes from true faith, prod us on to be faithful to our high calling, and encourage us by a daily sense of your presence…(moments of silence)

ASSURANCE (Ephesians 1:7)

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.

RESPONSE TO FORGIVENESS “Gloria Patri”

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.

PRAYER FOR ILLUMINATION (Psalm 63:1)

Tim Keeley

O God, you are my God, I seek you, my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.

OLD TESTAMENT READING (Exodus 19:3-6)

Tim Keeley

Then Moses went up to God; the Lord called to him from the mountain, saying, “Thus you shall say to the house of Jacob, and tell the Israelites: You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to myself.  Now therefore, if you obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession out of all the peoples.  Indeed, the whole earth is mine, but you shall be for me a priestly kingdom and a holy nation.  These are the words that you shall speak to the Israelites.”

NEW TESTAMENT READING (1 Peter 2:9-10)

Rev. Dr. Jonathan T. Swanson, Pastor

But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s own people, in order that you may proclaim the mighty acts of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.  Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE AND LORD’S PRAYER

Rev. Dr. Jonathan T. Swanson, Pastor

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
