PRAISE MUSIC – “Your Love Never Fails”

Almighty God, we pause in this time to remember your glory, and to give thanks. Thank you for our country, thank you for freedom, and thank you for those who gave their lives to keep it, all in the name of the one who gave his life for the world, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Sing Along

SING ALONG – “Sing To The King”

Blessed be God, because he has not rejected our prayers or removed his steadfast love from us.

O most merciful God, we do not always appreciate the privileges we enjoy. We feel our economic prosperity is owed to us. We confess we take for granted the price that has been paid to earn our freedoms. We neglect to thank you for your blessings. Forgive us, and help us to see how much you have done for us and for our salvation. Amen.

ASSURANCE (Ephesians 1:7)

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace.

Glory be to the Father,

and to the Son,

And to the Holy Ghost;

As it was in the beginning,

is now, and ever shall be:World without end. Amen. Amen.

SOLO – “Amazing Grace with America The Beautiful”

arr Alice Jordan | Edward Latimer, violin

Your word is a lamp unto my feet and a light to my path. Amen.

OLD TESTAMENT READING (2 Samuel 23:13-17)

Towards the beginning of harvest three of the thirty chiefs went down to join David at the cave of Adullam, while a band of Philistines was encamped in the valley of Rephaim. David was then in the stronghold; and the garrison of the Philistines was then at Bethlehem. David said longingly, “O that someone would give me water to drink from the well of Bethlehem that is by the gate!”
Then the three warriors broke through the camp of the Philistines, drew water from the well of Bethlehem that was by the gate, and brought it to David. But he would not drink of it; he poured it out to the Lord, for he said, “The Lord forbid that I should do this. Can I drink the blood of the men who went at the risk of their lives?” Therefore he would not drink it. The three warriors did these things.

NEW TESTAMENT READING (Ephesians 5:19-20)

As you sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, singing and making melody to the Lord in your hearts, giving thanks to God the Father at all times and for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow

Praise Him, all creatures here below

Praise Him above the Heavenly host

Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.

Gracious Father, your love and gifts know no bounds. We take but a piece of how much you’ve given us, and we give back to you and your kingdom. May our gifts show others how great is our God. Amen.

Almighty God, on this Memorial Day weekend we thank you for the men and women in uniform who have placed our lives ahead of their own lives. We thank you for their example of courage, selflessness, and love. We pray for the day their work becomes unnecessary—when swords are beaten into plowshares and spears into pruning hooks.

Bind up our wounds, and may those in need feel your healing touch. We pray this in the name of the One who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, saying the prayer he taught his disciples:

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name.  Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the kingdom and the power, and the glory, forever.  Amen.

CLOSING PRAISE – “Praise You With the Dance”

CLOSING PRAYER (Psalm 72:18-19)

Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, who alone does wondrous things. Blessed be his glorious name forever; may his glory fill the whole earth. Amen and Amen.
