Summary of Stated Session Meeting held September 24, 2019

 

Following is a summary of the discussions and decisions during the stated meeting of session in September, 2019:

  • Committees have been very active and many minutes and reports were received and approved
  • The HBPC Manual of Operations continues to be a ‘work in progress’ with Session teams making updates to existing policies or providing new ones
  • Gerald Schmidt, Chairperson of the Property Committee provided an update on the sanctuary renovation with word the tentative date for completion is late October – early November.
  • Approved change order(s) up to $35,000 to cover cost of additional sound system speakers and a large monitor the choir could see from the choir loft.
  • Established the date of Sunday, November 10 at 10:00 am for the Nominating Committee report.
  • Approved Christmas Eve service at 7:00 pm.
  • Approved having a single service at 10:00 am on December 15, December 22 and December 29.
  • Accepted the report of the Annual Financial Review by the CPA firm; there were no findings and the reviewer was very complimentary of the work Chuck Harper does as our financial secretary.
  • General plans for the fall Generosity program were shared; additional details will be provided in October.

Summary of Stated Session Meeting held August 15, 2019

 

Following is a summary of the discussions and decisions during the stated meeting of session in August, 2019:

  • Committees have been very active and many minutes and reports were received and approved
  • The HBPC Manual of Operations continues to be a ‘work in progress’ with Session teams making updates to existing policies or providing new ones
  • Gerald Schmidt, Chairperson of the Property Committee provided an update on the sanctuary renovation. Progress is moving along with review of supporting beams having positive results.
  • Ministry Architects will be back at HBPC in October for a review and further visioning work
  • The Coordinating Committee was reinstated with membership including Chairpersons of Endowment, Human Resources, Property, and Stewardship and with the Financial Secretary and Pastor as ex-officio members. The purpose of this Committee is to ensure all impacted parties are aware of upcoming expenditures

Following is a summary of the discussions and decisions during the stated meeting of session in July, 2019:

  • Committees have been very active and many minutes and reports were received and approved
  • Gerald Schmidt, Chairperson of the Property Committee provided an update on the sanctuary renovation. Progress is moving along with review of supporting beams having positive results.
  • New member class scheduled for September 8 at 12:30 pm

Summary of Stated Session Meeting held June 20, 2019

 

Following is a summary of the discussions and decisions during the stated meeting of session in June, 2019:

  • Committees have been very active and many minutes and reports were received and approved
  • Marie Hix, Clerk of Session reported there is ongoing work to ensure the database aligns with the Clerk’s Membership Register
  • Marie Hix, Chairperson of the Youth Director Search Committee reported that we have a candidate for the Part Time Youth Director coming Sunday, June 30.
  • Approved VBS set-up during the week with allowance made so we can have worship on Sunday due to the huge task entailed in the set-up; also to create excitement for the week.
  • Approved closing the office on Friday, July 5
  • Approved for Jonathan to meet the previously planned continuing education on July 10 –17 in Guatemala to educate pastors.
  • Gerald Schmidt, Chairperson of the Property Committee provided an update on the sanctuary renovation.
  • Motion made and seconded that meeting be held on December 12 at 6:00 pm with meal to be determined.
