We could use your help in Children's Worship and the Nursery during worship. "JoAnne do I need to teach?" No, you don't. We need folks to be the second adult to keep us within our policy of always having 2 adults. Jenni shares the lesson with the little ones in the nursery and JoAnne leads the lesson in Children's Worship. This is a great opportunity to build relationships not only with the children but their parents!

The Presbyterian Women will be selling the new Bible study book after church this Sunday and next. Both Circles will meet to begin our new study on September 17. Afternoon Circle meets at noon and Evening Circle meets at 7:00 pm, at the church.

The Director of Youth Ministries search committee is happy to announce that we have offered the position to Jaimie Shires and Jaimie has accepted. Jaimie comes to us with experience as Director of Christian Education as well as director of Children's Ministry over the course of 9 years. She is married to CJ and they are parents to Hunter and Hayden.

Jaimie will join the staff on August 12 and we will welcome her and her family at worship on August 18. Jaimie is passionate about Youth Ministry and is looking forward to meeting our youth and their parents. 

August is busy at ACS! We have already served 306 clients, 135 homeless and helped 9 families financially.

Pantry needs are: canned pasta, soup, canned meats, chili, canned vegetables and fruits, pasta sauce, mac & cheese, rice, instant potatoes, jelly, crackers, peanut butter, cereal, breakfast bars, snacks, clean T-shirts and gently used Bibles.

We have 20 tickets, $10 per ticket, to a Jumbo Shrimp game. Please click HERE to let us know if you want to go. There are several dates available but we will go with the date that gets the most people. Everyone is welcome.

If you requested the altar flowers be dedicated to someone or something so far this year, please check your records that you have paid. Each bouquet is $30. You may pay online or note "flowers" on your check. Thank you!

There is another email going around claiming to be Pastor Jon asking for gift cards. Do not respond! This is a scam. It is not in his writing style, nor does it come from his email address. Jon will never ask for money over email. Please be careful out there in the cyberworld.

We continue to give thanks to the congregation’s response to our “Blessed to Be a Blessing” generosity campaign. We have received 53 pledges totaling $458,546. At this point we expect 2024’s total income to be $615,000 and total expenses to be at $676,000.

We hope to hear from those who have not responded as we continue to evaluate our expectations, before we complete our plan for next year.

Please consider your blessings, as we plan for next year, and how we at Hodges Boulevard Presbyterian Church may respond to God’s call.
