Outreach Mission Team

“…when I was hungry, you gave me food; when thirsty, you gave me drink; when I was a stranger, you took me into your home, when naked you clothed me; when I was ill, you came to my help…I tell you this: anything you did for one of my brothers here, however humble, you did for me.” (Matthew 25: 35-40)

According to the Book of Order of the Presbyterian Church, “God sends the church in the power of the Holy Spirit to exercise compassion in the world, feeding the hungry…caring for the sick…sheltering the homeless, befriending the lonely…Such acts of compassion, done corporately and individually, are the work of the church as the body of Christ.”

The Outreach Mission Team reaches out to those in need in our own community and around the globe. Church members give their time, energy, and financial support to a variety of missions. As members participate in outreach activities, they enjoy fellowship and friendship, and they make a difference in the lives of those who need a helping hand. If you are interested in learning more about the Outreach Mission Team, we invite you to attend an Outreach meeting on Mission Night, the first Thursday of each month, or calling the church office to volunteer for an outreach activity:

  • Family Promise assists homeless families with food, shelter, childcare, and training as they seek jobs, locate housing, and gain self-sufficiency.

  • Arlington Community Service is a local food bank that supplies food and emergency funds for utilities and rent to those who qualify in the Arlington area.

  • On the third Monday night of each month, HBPC volunteers prepare and serve dinner for the homeless at Mission House of Jacksonville Beach.

  • Through the Beaches Habitat Apostle’s Build program, HBPC has helped build seven houses with funding and volunteer labor. Please consider joining us on the following dates, as we continue construction of our newest Habitat house:  February 10th, March 12th, March 24th and April 23rd.

  • Meals on Wheels utilizes volunteers to deliver meals to seniors in the Beaches area, and HBPC members assist in this important effort.
