The Youth Mission Team is responsible for overseeing the Youth Ministries Program and is committed to ensuring that all youth are given the opportunity to progress on their respective journeys to becoming a whole-hearted disciple of Jesus Christ, in an exciting and fun atmosphere specific to their needs.
We are passionate about ministering to young people in ways that will impact their lives for the better and give them a solid foundation for journeying through life with Jesus Christ at its center. The members of Hodges Church believe that the best way to ensure the youth of today will transition into becoming successful young adults is to surround them with support systems of love and encouragement, and give them the chance to experience what it means to be a disciple of Christ.
Our program offers 6th-12th graders many opportunities to develop meaningful, lasting relationships The vision we share focuses on positive belief in self, caring for those in our community and having an enhanced awareness of the need for Christ’s love in the world. To that end, we place a strong emphasis on having love for one another and possessing hearts that are moved by Mission.
Throughout the year we come together in ways that strengthen our bonds of friendship, celebrate the blessings God has given us, and enable us to serve others in need. We meet Sunday Mornings at 10:10am for Bible Study, and most Sunday evenings from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM to have dinner together, share some time for fellowship and fun and spend time learning about our Faith and discerning what God would have us do. We also have quarterly lock-ins with trips to Adventure Landing and food fights with 6' long subs, semi-annual trips to the Jacksonville Zoo, an annual trip to 'Night of Joy' at Disney World and one other annual trip that varies, but is always top secret. In all that we do we seek to glorify God and have a sense of gratitude for our good fortune.
These are just some of the examples of the Retreats and Mission Trips in which we participate
“ Isaiah 40:29-31 He gives power to the faint, and strengthens the powerless. Even youths will faint and be weary, and the young will fall exhausted; but those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint ”
