Forgiven and freed by God in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves:
To nurture our faith through prayer and Bible Study, to support the mission of the Church worldwide, to work for justice and peace, and to build an inclusive, caring, community of women that strengthen the Presbyterian Church (USA) and witness to the promise of God’s kingdom.
ALL women of the Church are considered members of Presbyterian Women. Although there is no requirement, you are cordially invited to become a member of one of three (3) active Circles which meet once a month for fellowship and Bible Study at the Church. These Circles are:
The three Circles come together three times each year at “Gatherings”.
ALL women of the Church are invited to these “Gatherings”, whether members of Circles or not. Each Gathering is hosted by a Circle, and the women of all the Circles are asked to bring covered dishes.
Periodically, Presbyterian Women hold fund-raising events to support various charities and to purchase needed items for the Church. Over the past several years, Presbyterian Women have compiled a Cook Book for the members entitled “Feeding the Flock”, copies of which are still available for sale in the office. Another project was a Church-wide garage sale which raised enough money to replace blinds in the Sunrise Room and to purchase a brass Cross for the Sanctuary. Presbyterian Women also support a child at the Thornwell Home for Children and have an ongoing project, among others, to provide Hygiene Kits, through Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, to victims of the recent earthquakes and future disasters.
You are cordially invited to become an active member of our group. For additional information, please contact the Church office at 223-6922, or pick up a Presbyterian Women Yearbook on the table under the Presbyterian Women Bulletin Board next to the wooden cabinet outside the Church office. We would love to get to know you!
